ART

One morning while visiting friends in Philadelphia, I was minding my own business in their kitchen and began drawing a pile of coffee beans in my sketchbook. Creating this repetitive pattern was a calming start to my day before venturing out into the city. One of my friends came downstairs when I was in the middle of my drawing, and immediately after seeing, she said "I want that"!  A few days after our vacation, I sat down and drew a larger version of the coffee beans for her and her husband and mailed it out to them as a thank you for being great hosts. I was proud of my art, so I posted it to my Instagram. It wasn't too long after that that my friends and family starting telling me they liked the coffee beans, too, and wanted some art of their own. Leaves, cats, bottles of hot sauce, and glasses of wine soon followed.

Just like with my other hobby of building furniture, I love creating something custom by hand for other people that brings them joy. My wife Jenn and I also love art in general, so every time I complete a piece, it brings more fun and beuty into our lives. I hope to keep on creating as much art in the future as possible.
